Will They Eat Apples and Bananas?featured

We surprised our hens this morning with a bin of overripe bananas and apples. We weren’t sure how they would react because they have never had either fruit served to them.

They started by aggressively attacking the fruit in the bin, but after about 5 minutes they walked away from the bin. We thought that maybe the fruit wasn’t very popular with the hens.

Right before bed time, we found that they had completely finished the bin of fruit. In fact, the only thing left of the apples was the skins. Huge win! 9 out of 10 on the popularity scale!
